My most recent moment of passionate clothes-sewing landed me with a gorgeous yet wholly impractiacl maxi dress, that in a British summertime doesn't end up with too many outings. I count one so far and that was around the house...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36079172.post-5568700652838927632011-07-03T17:44:20.367-04:002011-07-03T17:44:20.367-04:00In a way, I suppose all sewing is ridiculous consi...In a way, I suppose all sewing is ridiculous considering how easy it is to buy RTW. The sloper looks like it is edging toward perfection. I suppose that to be truly scientific about it, you would only want to change one parameter at a time anyway to see how it affects the overall fit. right ?Sigridhttp://analogme.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36079172.post-47054854229943690432011-07-02T02:50:00.059-04:002011-07-02T02:50:00.059-04:00Yay for ridiculous! As you are already deep into sloper making I can see reason in your making your own pattern version instead of using an existing one. xMinnadohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02838971800070422776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36079172.post-91317268635302253312011-07-01T13:42:53.666-04:002011-07-01T13:42:53.666-04:00Definitely ridiculous! Like I bought the pattern for inspiration or something -- ridiculous! And I LOVE it when a project sweeps me along in its path until it is done.
My daughter tells me that all the girls at school tie their t-shirts at the back with hair-scrunchies to make them "fit". Vogue models use hair-sectioning clips to hold their clothes in shape so that they look fab from the front. It's the way to go!
I think there is a strong argument for only making the fronts of clothes and folding flaps over your shoulders like a paper doll ;)Roobeedoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02395340950409421904noreply@blogger.com
